Lucca, Italy

Lucca is a small town about an hour or so from Florence (near Pisa). It is still surrounded by the old Roman wall and used to be known as the city with the most churches before many of them became homes, museums, etc. It's a cute little town that we took a day trip to one of the first weekends here.

Lucca city limits sign...in front of the city walls

This tower in the city is famous for the tree growing out of the top

This was a cute little apartment on top of the cafe that is in the adjoining picture

The street on top of the wall, that Napoleon's sister made a public area for running, jogging, etc.

View from the top of one of the city walls

A building near the city wall /A random door on a cute Luccan building

The main cathedral in Lucca

A church and the piazza that it sits in

Another Luccan church

The church that houses Saint Zita's body (right side) and one of the two mosaics in Tuscany

A very cute circle which used to be the Roman amphitheater/Michelle and I in the circle (it's really bright because the color is off)
